PENINGKATAN PENGELOLAAN ARSIP SURAT MENYURAT MELALUI APLIKASI BERBASIS WEB DENGAN METODE FIRST IN FIRST OUT

Abstract

Correspondence management activities will end up in the archive as a document which is an activity that provides a record of the activities carried out and becomes a memory of activities in companies/agencies/institutions, both private and public. Archives have an important role in agencies/institutions because they are a source of information. The purpose of archiving is records that are combined as a source of information  requires fast time to convey the required information. Problems arise in the management of correspondence archives from the results of observations, interviews and data collection in the field are the accumulation of data and the difficulty in finding information since there is no special application that helps archiving. Moreover it is still not effective and efficient in searching because archiving is not structured well. The development of correspondence management applications as archives at Bandar Lampung DPRD Secretariat using a java web application with a mysql database, and the method used is extreme programming and assisted by the FIFO (Fisrt In First Out) preparation method. The results of this study are in the form of a web-based application that has archive recording features and correspondence archiving notifications to information search and correspondence reporting, making it easier to archive and find sources of information that are more effective and efficient than the previous system.
